What this site is

This is an independent guide to MiniMax M3.1 Flash, the model MiniMax released on 19 October 2026. It exists because the search results for that model are almost entirely parameter cards: pages that repeat the price and the context window without answering the questions people actually have.

The questions this site answers are the practical ones:

  • What does it cost, per token and per finished task?
  • Which of the published scores should I trust, and why?
  • How do I actually wire it into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode or Ollama — including the configuration steps that break?
  • What does the MiniMax subscription actually give you, and how do its usage windows and credit packs work?
  • What else does MiniMax ship, and which of those models are on the way out?
  • What is it good at, what is it bad at, and when should I use a different model?

What this site is not

  • Not affiliated with MiniMax. We are not a partner, reseller, affiliate or employee. We do not receive model access, pricing or support from them.
  • Not a benchmark runner. We do not publish our own leaderboard. We read the measurements that MiniMax and Artificial Analysis publish, and we tell you where they disagree or where a benchmark is known to be flawed.
  • Not a mirror of the documentation. The official docs are the source of truth and are linked from every page. Where we add anything, it is the part the docs leave out: the failure modes, the cost arithmetic, and the trust question.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising, served by Adsterra and, where enabled, Google AdSense. Ads are chosen by the ad networks from your region and your prior activity on this and other sites — they are not selected by the editors, and we do not endorse the products or services they promote.

Advertising revenue is what pays for the hosting, the research time and the keeping the documentation current. It is not a reason to change a rating, soften a limitation or leave a sponsorship out of a comparison; if anything influences what this site says, we would rather it did not.

If an ad turns out to be misleading, tell us.

How it is maintained

Every page carries the date it was last reviewed and the sources it was built from. When MiniMax changes the model, the pricing or the integration path, the affected pages are updated and the review date moves.

The model moves fast: it launched with a free window that lasted days, the preview name was retired within weeks, and open weights are still pending. Read the dates, not just the numbers.

If a page is wrong or out of date, tell us — corrections are the point of the contact page, and the sources policy explains how we label evidence.

Site scope

The guide is written in English for an international audience of developers. We do not currently publish a Chinese-language edition, and we are not attempting to out-publish Chinese-language coverage of the launch; where Chinese reporting adds a claim we cannot source, we check it and say so.

Sources and version notes

Checked October 21, 2026. We label official claims, third-party measurements, our own testing and community reports separately — see the sources policy for what each label means.
